The Colli Perugini Doc is produced in an area which is rich in evidence on the wine-making activity of the Etruscans and the Romans.
It is the hilly area surrounding Perugia (Perugia, Deruta, Marciano, Monte Castello di Vibio, Piegaro and Fratta Todina) and a part of the province of Terni (San Venanzo).
This Doc includes three types of wines: Colli Perugini Bianco, Rosso and Rosato.
The Bianco is served with structured preparations: fish-based antipastos, pasta served with fish sauce, fried and grilled fish. It is served at 12-14°C in flared chalices and within two years from vintage.
The Rosato is served with fresh cold cuts, minestrone, local soups, fish-based dishes, different types of cheese; it is served in wide chalices at 12-14°C.
The Rosso is served with baked pasta, grilled meat, beef, and game-based dishes and is served in wide chalices at 16-18°C.
